Application of Semi-Conductors and Current Sensors in Contemporary Technologies
Today one can find semiconductors of special materials. Their resistance should be nearly among that of a conductor and a non-conductor. The resistance of semi-conductors also is influenced by changes in temperature or added “impurities”.
The term “dashes” refers to the other substances added to the material. The complete combination labels the semiconductors as semiconductor assembly of type-n and type-t.
They produce diodes as well as transistors applying both these types of semi-conductors. It's so that today the most popular material for semi-conductor production is silicon.
Just to let the process of electrical current in just one sense diodes are applied. They are created of semiconductor substance. In each diode there is a part made of positive and negative constructions (p- and n-) as well as of barrier level (known as pn-transfer). Diodes make electrical circuits transforming among direct and alternating current. As diodes make current flow just in one direction only a part of the series or cycle passes by. People name such a junction a rectifier.
LED (or light diodes) is one more variant of diodes. Such diodes are applied when it's important to generate light at little voltages and eventually make no heat. Today they have LED light diodes as the light fixing the idle state of various electronic gadgets.
Moore's law led to the development of thyristors production. What is the most important factor to make complicated power semi-conductor devices at lower cost? Lithography is. Because that optical lithography is already actual no more, there's now a tendency for other technologies. Presumably ultraviolet lithography and nano-imprint lithography are to become the successors to optical lithography. Since not long time ago specialists also consider x-ray lithography and electron beam lithography as good substitutes.
Such a useful device as pulsed power devices was brought into life in Russia. Specialists apply those sensors to complete various tasks in any conditions. The igbt modules may be applied in either business, industrial or daily constructions. The form and size of the voltage sensor can change from those little light counters to multi-functional gadgets signaling on radiation motion.
But if the current sensor is alone it won't work. There are power system programmes made for many control actions. They maintain the check of planned power interchange among the adjacent power systems, mode of circuit breakers in substation and of system parameters like voltage, frequency, power flow. They also allow to cope with system alarms and generate suitable action for each.
The complete view of the whole power system should be provided to the dispatchers from the displays on several computers of various substations. With the help of respective interfacing components the state of CB's, disconnectors, isolators and analog values such as MVAR, MW, KV, Amps etc. was fixed in the RTU. The biggest part in export is the prerogative of Russian Federation and China.
